What many believed was an impossible endeavor in modern-day Napa, Louis was unwavering in his vision, and knowing its south and east-facing slopes and porous, volcanic soils were ideal for a vineyard, he purchased the property in 2014. Hence began a six-year process to obtain the necessary permits, and in April 2020, under the watchful eye of David Abreu, the first vines were planted. Shaped by the landscape, 15 pristine acres of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Petit Verdot, and Sauvignon Blanc are now flourishing amongst 25 acres of thoughtfully manicured forest. From Ciminelli’s vision, this namesake vineyard is the beating heart at our innovative core.
